As a teacher, I can always identify the scouts in a new class of students. Scouts stand out because of their character, confidence and leadership. The scouting program provides fun and challenging activities that develop these skills. The fun starts with Cub Scouts, a year-round program for girls and boys in grade levels K-5th. We earn belt loops by learning about safety, citizenship, civics, first-aid, physical fitness, community service, STEM and so much more. Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts) continues on this path provides amazing opportunities for girls and boys aged 11 to 18. Cub scouts have the opportunity to attend age appropriate programs, camp outs, and fun summer camps throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. Scouts with Scouting America do all of that and have the opportunity to go to high adventure programs like Norther Tier in the Boundary Waters, The Summit in West Virginia, Sea Base in the Florida Keys and Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Come explore the opportunities scouting will provide for your child. I am a scout leader for Pack 601 (9601) with my daughter and Troop 559 (9559) here in Woodbury. Please email me if you are interested or have further questions about scouting.
